Our story
We got tired of overlays winning.
Overlay widgets have been sold to organisations for years as a “fix” for web accessibility. They don't fix anything. They hide violations. Disabled users know it. Auditors know it. Regulators are starting to act on it.
We built Aulys to give developers and compliance teams a tool that actually works: automated scanning, AI fix suggestions, and compliance documentation that holds up under legal scrutiny.
Note on EAA timelines: The European Accessibility Act (EAA) enforcement deadline for B2C digital products and services is 28 June 2025. If you sell to consumers in the EU, this applies to you. Check your compliance today.
What drives us
Our principles
Fix the code. Not the perception.
Overlays are a compliance fiction. Real accessibility means semantic HTML, working ARIA roles, and keyboard navigation that actually works. That's what we help teams ship.
Transparency over jargon.
We tell you when automated tools can't detect something, we map regulations honestly, and we don't overclaim what any tool can do. Your legal team deserves accurate information.
Developer experience first.
If the tooling is painful, developers work around it. Aulys integrates where engineers already work: GitHub, Figma, VS Code, and CI/CD pipelines. Zero context-switching.
How we got here
Our journey
The frustration point
Our founding team was building enterprise software. Every accessibility audit cost thousands, took weeks, and delivered a 200-page PDF — not a code fix.
The platform
First version of Aulys shipped: WCAG scanning → AI fix suggestions → CI/CD block. EAA compliance mapping added when the June 2025 deadline became front of mind for clients.
India & global expansion
Added IS 17802:2022 and GIGW 3.0 mapping — the first accessibility platform to cover Indian government and SEBI compliance requirements. Now serving teams across EU, US, and India.
The people
Who's building this
Raghav Sharma
Co-founder & CEO
Former accessibility engineer at a Tier-1 bank. Watched too many overlay contracts get signed.
Lenya Müller
Co-founder & CTO
Built the first version of the scanner in a weekend. Still optimising its cold-start time.
Preethi Iyer
Head of Compliance
Certified CPACC. Writes our regulation mapping. Has read every page of the EU Accessibility Act.
We're a small team. Every person here writes code or reads regulations — often both.
